This movie was made during the summer or 1968. It is an incredible film. Everyone involved with the film was not sure if it was going to be a good film at the box office or if the movie was going to flop. They thought it was going to be ridiculed.

The 2 main characters, Paul Newman as Butch and Robert Redford as Sundance gave absolutely spectacular performances. These 2 brilliant actors gave the story depth and intensity. Katherine Ross was the school teacher and traveled around with the Butch and Sundance.

The production of it was nothing less than amazing. Back then there were far less resources available for the staff of the production team to use in making the movie. In the DVD, in the special features, not once was the word "computer" mentioned. The photography was brilliant. The photographer had a special back lighting scheme already in his mind for this particular film. It worked very very well. The shots of the actors and the country side were extra clear and crisp.

The director had 6 cameras for the shoot, and only 5 operators. Katherine Ross stepped in to operate one of the cameras. This was a no-no. She managed to get the director and other production staff in an uproar. They were quite upset. She was barred from the set unless she was working on the film. It kinda put a dark cloud over her role for the rest of the film. I couldn't tell.

The story is outstanding and remains outstanding. The writer originally called the story,"The Sundance Kid and Butch Cassidy". Steve McQueen was supposed to be in it but it never happened.

In the special features part of the DVD, Paul Newman, Robert Redford and Katherine Ross were interviewed at around 1992. They have aged well. It is extraordinary to see the actors now and how they look. Its really quite awesome and a living testimony to how actors and actresses can give us so much to remember.
